AVCC v Burbage

A bright and breezy afternoon at Rushall, with Burbage winning the toss and deciding to bat first. A small crowd gathered, swelled by the presence of some of Rory Plank's wedding guests.

After ironing out the imbalance of available players (AV 13, Burbage 10!) thanks to Angus volunteering to switch allegiance, we got going and settled into some steady and tight bowling performances, with a regular fall of wickets, Rob Hedderwick excelling with 3-8, Mike Parr with 3-21 and Harry Flack 2-8. Greg Caswell and Graham Newland completed the bowling performance with a wicket each leaving Burbage on 112 after 32 overs.

After a well received tea, Avon Valley opened with Paddy Bond and Mike Parr, Paddy making a swift 7 before being bowled and Mike scoring 8 (out caught) whilst supporting Rob Hedderwick on his way to a fine 62 before getting trapped leg before. Stuart Logan also batted with Rob for a not out 23, and to impress his wedding guests Rory went in at no 5 for the few overs left before we got to the target of 113.

Another win and another enjoyable afternoon at the 'Shed and thank you to all of you again.
